Does this work in both directions?
Yes — choose a WebP file and convert it to PNG or JPG, or choose a PNG/JPG file and convert it to WebP. The "Convert to" dropdown updates automatically based on what you upload.
Why would I convert away from WebP?
Some older software, email clients, and design tools still don't open WebP files — converting to PNG or JPG makes an image usable everywhere.
Will converting to PNG lose quality?
No — PNG is lossless, so converting WebP to PNG keeps full image quality (transparency included). Converting to JPG or WebP is lossy, so the quality slider controls the size/quality trade-off.
Can I convert a GIF or BMP to WebP?
Yes — GIF and BMP are also accepted as source images. They convert to WebP, PNG, or JPG the same way, though they can't be a conversion target themselves (browsers can't encode back to GIF or BMP). For an animated GIF, only the frame showing when the file loads is used — this tool doesn't convert frame-by-frame.
