How cover fitting works
Every frame has a width and height determined by the selected preset. To fill that frame without stretching a photo, the renderer chooses the larger of the horizontal and vertical scale factors, then centers the scaled image inside a clipped rounded rectangle.
scale = max(frame width / photo width, frame height / photo height)
crop = centered overflow beyond the frame
This is the same visual behavior commonly called object-fit cover: no empty bands and no distorted faces, with predictable cropping around the center.
FAQ
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Selected images are decoded in the browser, drawn onto a local canvas, and exported from that canvas. The files do not need to leave your device.
How many photos can I add?
The interface accepts up to six JPG, PNG, or WebP images at a time. That keeps each preset readable and avoids creating an overcrowded collage.
How are photos fitted into each frame?
Each photo uses a cover fit: it scales until the frame is filled, remains centered, and crops the excess at the sides or top and bottom. The original aspect ratio is preserved.
What size is the exported PNG?
Square collages export at 900 by 900 pixels, landscape at 1000 by 750, and portrait at 800 by 1000. The downloaded image matches the active canvas shape.
Can I rearrange or crop individual photos?
This focused version lays photos out in selection order and uses centered cover cropping. Per-photo repositioning, freeform layers, text, stickers, and manual crop handles are not included.
