FAQ
How are byes assigned when I have an odd number of entrants?
The bracket is padded up to the next power of two (e.g. 7 entrants becomes an 8-slot bracket) and the extra slots are filled with "BYE" — a player matched against a bye automatically advances to the next round.
Are seeds randomized or can I set them manually?
Names are shuffled randomly into bracket slots each time you generate. For seeded tournaments where ranking matters, order your list from strongest to weakest first and manually place seeds against typical bracket seeding conventions afterward.
Does it fully generate a double elimination bracket?
It generates the winners' side bracket and labels the format, but a real double elimination event also needs a losers' bracket with its own set of matches — this simplified generator doesn't lay those out, so plan the losers' side manually or use dedicated tournament software for larger double-elim events.
