How it works
- Pick a time in the alarm field — today's occurrence if it hasn't passed yet, otherwise tomorrow's.
- Click "Set alarm". This also unlocks audio in your browser so the alert can actually make a sound later.
- The countdown updates every second. When the clock reaches your chosen time, an on-screen banner appears, a beep repeats, and the browser tab title flashes until you dismiss it or snooze for 5 minutes.
Uncheck "Play sound when it rings" if you'd rather rely on just the banner and the flashing tab title — useful in a quiet room or shared space where a beep isn't welcome.
FAQ
Does the alarm still ring if I close this tab or put my laptop to sleep?
No — it needs the tab open (in the background is fine) and your device awake, the same as any browser-based tool. Closing the tab or letting your laptop sleep stops the page's JavaScript, which is what's tracking the time.
Why do I have to click 'Set alarm' instead of it just working?
Browsers block audio from playing until you've interacted with the page, so clicking Set alarm is what unlocks sound for later. Typing a time alone only shows a preview of when it would ring — it doesn't arm anything.
Will it still ring on time if I switch to another tab or app?
Yes, as long as this tab stays open — but most browsers slow down timers in background tabs to save power, so it may fire a few seconds late rather than to the exact second. Keep the tab visible if you need it precise.
Can I set more than one alarm at a time?
Not right now — one alarm at a time. Cancel the current one and pick a new time if you need to change it.
Is my alarm time sent anywhere?
No. The clock, the countdown, and the alert all run locally using your browser's built-in Date and Web Audio APIs — nothing about the time you set is uploaded or logged.
