This converts the PDF's text content into a Word document — it doesn't recreate the original page layout, fonts, images, or tables, since that would need a full page-rendering engine. Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No - the PDF is read and converted entirely in your browser using pdf.js. It's never uploaded anywhere, unlike most online PDF-to-Word converters, which process your file on their servers and delete it later.
Does this keep the original layout, fonts, and images?
No - it extracts the PDF's text and reflows it into paragraphs in a new Word document. It doesn't recreate the original page layout, fonts, or images, since that needs a full page-rendering engine. For a PDF's tables specifically, try the PDF Table Extractor instead.
Can it convert a scanned PDF?
Not on its own. This tool reads a PDF's text layer, so a scanned PDF or a photo with no text layer has nothing to extract. Some converters offer OCR (text recognition) for scanned PDFs as a paid feature — that's out of scope here.
Is the output editable in Microsoft Word or Google Docs?
