An EPUB file is really just a ZIP archive with a specific internal structure: an uncompressed mimetype marker, a container pointing to the package manifest, and the actual chapter content as XHTML files. Will this work on a scanned PDF?
Only if the PDF already has a text layer — most scanned, image-only PDFs don't, since the "text" is really just pixels in a photo. Run a scanned PDF through an OCR tool first to add a text layer, then convert it here.
Does it preserve the original formatting, images, or fonts?
No — this is a text-only conversion. Each PDF page becomes one EPUB chapter with its extracted text as plain paragraphs. Complex layouts, columns, images, and custom fonts aren't carried over.
Will the EPUB open in any e-reader app?
It's a standard EPUB 2 file (mimetype, container.xml, content.opf, and a navigation table of contents), so it should open in any EPUB-compatible reader, including Apple Books, most Android reading apps, and our own EPUB Reader tool.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
