How it works
- Pick the task you want — Edit, Annotate & Sign, Redact, Watermark, Page Numbers, Crop, Organize Pages or PDF Forms — so you only see the tools that job needs.
- Choose a PDF. It opens straight into the full-screen editor — nothing leaves your device.
- Use the tools down the left, with their settings on the right. Anything you place can be dragged to move it or resized by its corner handle, and every step can be undone.
- Click Save & Download to flatten your changes into a new PDF and download it — or Share it directly if your device supports it.
FAQ
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. Your file is opened, edited, and saved entirely inside your browser tab using pdf.js and pdf-lib — nothing is ever sent to a server. You can even go offline once the page has loaded.
How does Redact actually remove content, not just cover it?
When you save, any page with a redaction box is rebuilt from scratch as a flattened image: the page is rendered with the box burned in solid black, and that image replaces the page's original text and graphics entirely. The words underneath are gone from the saved file, not just hidden under a black rectangle. Pages without a redaction box keep their original, selectable text and quality untouched.
Can I change the words that are already in the PDF?
Not yet — rewriting existing text is planned for a future update. A PDF stores text as positioned glyphs rather than editable paragraphs, so doing it properly means recovering each run’s font and colour instead of pasting a patch over the old words. For now you can cover an area and type over it with Add Text, or remove it for good with Redact.
What does Add Fields actually create?
Real, fillable PDF form fields — text boxes, checkboxes, dropdowns, and multiple-choice groups — built with the same PDF form technology Acrobat uses. Anyone opening the saved file in a PDF reader that supports forms can fill them in.
Can I undo a mistake?
Yes — every change (adding, moving, resizing, or deleting something, reordering or rotating a page) can be undone with the Undo button at the top left until you close the tab. Deleting a page or redacting an area also asks you to confirm first.
Is there a page or file size limit?
No hard limit — everything runs on your device, so the practical ceiling is your browser’s available memory rather than a quota we impose. Very large files or many redacted/rebuilt pages can take a few extra seconds to save.
Can I convert my PDF to Word or Excel here?
Not in this tool — converting, translating, and AI-based text detection all need a server or a heavy model, which would break the "nothing is ever uploaded" guarantee, so they’re left out entirely rather than shown as a button that can’t work. Use the dedicated PDF Converter for format conversion.
