How it works
- Enter your words, one per line, and choose a grid size.
- Click "Generate puzzle" — each word is placed in a random direction, and remaining cells fill with random letters.
- Print the result, or generate again for a different layout.
FAQ
What happens if a word doesn't fit?
Each word gets up to 60 random placement attempts. If it still doesn't fit — usually because the grid is too small or the word is too long — it's skipped, and the status line tells you how many words made it in.
Which directions can words run?
All eight: horizontal, vertical, and diagonal, in both directions — the same as a typical printed word search.
Can I print the puzzle?
Yes — "Print / save as PDF" opens your browser's print dialog with just the grid and word list, no page chrome.
Is my word list uploaded anywhere?
No — the puzzle is generated entirely in your browser.
