FAQ
What's the difference between a macrocycle, mesocycle, and microcycle?
A macrocycle is the whole season plan (e.g. 16 weeks to a goal race). It's broken into mesocycles — multi-week blocks with one training focus, like Base or Build — which are themselves made of microcycles, typically single training weeks.
How does the tool decide how long each phase should be?
It uses a simplified proportional split: base and build together fill most of the time before your goal week, taper is roughly 10% of that lead-in, and peak is the final week. Adjust the split yourself for your sport's conventions — this is a starting template, not a prescription.
Why does a taper phase exist right before the goal event?
Tapering reduces training volume while keeping intensity, letting accumulated fatigue dissipate so you arrive at the goal event fresher and better able to express the fitness built during base and build phases.
