The cleanup method
Text Cleaner applies rules in a predictable order: line endings are normalized first, then hidden controls, repeated spaces, line edges, blank lines, punctuation, and optional line joining. Handling spacing before blank lines prevents stray tabs from disguising an empty line.

Does Text Cleaner upload or store what I paste?
No. Every cleanup rule runs locally in this browser tab. Your text is not uploaded, saved to an account, or sent to a processing service.
What counts as an invisible control character?
The option removes non-printing ASCII controls that can arrive with copied terminal, PDF, or database text. It keeps normal line breaks and tabs until the spacing rules handle them.
Will cleanup change the meaning of my text?
The default rules only normalize spacing, line edges, repeated blank lines, and hidden controls. Smart punctuation conversion and joining lines are separate, unchecked options so you can opt in.
Can I keep paragraph breaks while removing empty lines?
Yes. The blank-line rule collapses repeated empty lines to one blank line, preserving clear paragraph separation instead of joining the whole document.
How much text can I clean at once?
There is no fixed service limit because processing happens on your device. Very large documents are limited only by the memory and performance available to your browser.
