How it works

The formula
Cost per cigarette = pack price ÷ 20. Daily cost = cigarettes per day × cost per cigarette. Yearly = daily × 365.25 (accounting for leap years).

That's the average month length across a year (365.25 ÷ 12), which gives a more accurate monthly figure than assuming every month is exactly 30 days.
