How it works

FAQ
Why use a spelling alphabet instead of just spelling the password?
Letters like "B" and "D", or "M" and "N", are easy to mishear over a phone or video call. The NATO phonetic alphabet (Alpha, Bravo, Charlie...) removes that ambiguity, the same way pilots and emergency dispatchers use it to communicate call signs accurately.
Is this the same as actually sharing the password securely?
This tool only changes how you say the characters out loud clearly — it doesn't encrypt or transmit anything. Verbal sharing over a trusted call is still generally safer than text or email, but for anything sensitive, a proper password manager's secure sharing feature is a stronger option.
Does capitalization come through in the phrase?
Yes — uppercase letters are announced with "capital" before the word (e.g. "capital Tango") so the listener can reconstruct the exact password, not just its letters.
