How to record your screen

- Perform the actions you want to capture; use your browser's sharing control or this page to stop.
- Preview the finished recording and download the WebM video to your device.
The browser's getDisplayMedia API supplies the screen stream after you grant permission. MediaRecorder encodes that stream into timed WebM chunks; when recording stops, the chunks are combined into a local Blob and shown through a temporary object URL for preview and download. No recording can be prefilled or started on load because browser security requires a user gesture and source selection.

Is my screen recording uploaded anywhere?
No. Capture, encoding, preview, and download all happen locally in your browser. The recording is not sent to Online Tool Store or another server.
Which browsers support screen recording?
Current desktop versions of Chrome, Edge, and Firefox generally support it. Screen capture requires a secure HTTPS page or localhost and may be restricted on some mobile browsers.
Why is there no sound in my recording?
Audio capture depends on your browser, operating system, and the source you choose. A browser tab may offer audio while a window or full screen may not.
What video format does the recorder create?
The download is a WebM video. The browser selects the best supported WebM codec, typically VP9 or VP8 with Opus audio when audio is available.
Can it record every app or protected video?
No. Your browser controls which screens, windows, and tabs can be selected. Operating-system restrictions or protected media may block capture or appear black.
