What is a plot bunny?
A plot bunny is writers’ slang, originally from fan-fiction communities, for a story idea that lodges in your head and will not leave you alone until you write it — and that tends to breed more ideas, the way rabbits do. This tool rolls one on demand so you have something concrete to chew on instead of a blank page.
What does one generated plot bunny contain?
A "what if" hook, a setting, a protagonist, what they want, the inciting event that starts things, a complication, and a mid-story twist. You can also switch on an optional theme, an opening line, and a suggested tone. Every part can be re-rolled on its own if most of the idea works but one line does not.
Can I pick a genre?
Yes. Choose from fantasy, science fiction, mystery and crime, thriller, romance, horror, historical, contemporary/literary, adventure, or young adult. "Surprise me" picks one genre per idea; "Mash-up" mixes genres within a single idea, which is a fast way to find an off-kilter premise like a romance set-up with thriller stakes.
How is this different from an AI story generator?
It is not AI. Every line is drawn at random from hand-written banks, so nothing you type is sent anywhere, results are instant, there is no usage limit, and the same idea can be reproduced by rolling again. It is built for brainstorming quantity, not for writing your draft for you.
Can I keep the ideas I like?
Yes. Press Pin on any idea and it drops into a "Pinned ideas" list that stays in your browser between visits. You can also Copy a single idea, Copy all, download them as a .txt file, or print the set.
Does this run in my browser?
Yes. Everything happens locally on the page. Your "must include" text, your settings, and your pinned ideas are stored only in this browser and are never uploaded.
