How the split works
Each range you enter becomes a brand-new PDF document: the tool copies just those pages, in order, out of the original and re-saves them as a standalone file. The original file itself is never modified — you're always working from a copy in memory.
FAQ
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read and split entirely in your browser using JavaScript — it never leaves your device or touches a server.
How do I write a page range?
Use a dash for a range and commas to separate multiple ranges, e.g. "1-3, 5, 8-10". A single number like "5" pulls out just that one page.
Can ranges overlap, or be listed out of order?
Yes — each range becomes its own independent output file, so overlapping or out-of-order ranges (e.g. "5-8, 1-3") are both fine.
Is there a page or file size limit?
Files up to 50 MB are supported. Very large PDFs may take a few seconds longer since everything runs on your device's CPU rather than a server.
Does splitting remove password protection?
No — a password-protected PDF can't be read by this tool at all. Remove the password first with a PDF password remover, then split it.

If your PDF has anything sensitive in it — contracts, IDs, financial statements — splitting it without an upload step is the safer default, and it's just as fast.
