How the Morse code audio player works

FAQ
What does WPM mean here?
Words per minute, using the standard "PARIS" timing reference where one unit (a dit) lasts 1200/WPM milliseconds - the same timing convention amateur radio operators use.
How are spaces between letters and words timed?
A dash is three dits long, the gap between symbols within a letter is one dit, the gap between letters is three dits, and the gap between words is seven dits.
Can I change the tone pitch?
Yes. Adjust the Tone slider between 300 and 1000 Hz - 600-700 Hz is a common comfortable frequency for Morse practice.
What characters are supported?
The 26 letters A-Z and digits 0-9. Punctuation is not currently converted.
Do I need to type in capital letters?
No - lowercase and uppercase are treated the same, since text is converted to uppercase automatically before it's translated to Morse code.
