Common stop words (the, a, and, ...) are excluded so the table reflects meaningful terms.

How it works

  1. Paste in a page's content or draft copy.
  2. The text is tokenized into words and two-word phrases, with common stop words filtered out.
  3. The most frequent meaningful terms and phrases are ranked by count and density.

The formula

Density = (occurrences of a term ÷ total word count) × 100. Two-word phrases ("free tools") are only shown if they repeat more than once, to avoid noise from one-off word pairs.

FAQ

What counts as "keyword density"?

The percentage of your total word count that a given word or phrase makes up — a rough signal of how much a piece of content focuses on that term.

Why are common words like "the" and "and" excluded?

Stop words appear in nearly every piece of text and don't reflect topical focus, so filtering them out surfaces the terms that actually characterize the content.

Does high keyword density help SEO?

Not directly — modern search engines look at topical relevance and semantic context far more than raw density. Unnaturally high density can even look like keyword stuffing and hurt rankings.

Is my content sent anywhere?

No — tokenizing, counting, and scoring all happen with JavaScript in your browser as you type.
