FAQ
What are these characters used for?
Zero-width characters are legitimate in some contexts (word-breaking hints in long URLs, joining/separating characters in certain scripts), but they're also used to bypass character limits, make usernames look identical while being technically different, or hide content from casual review.
What is the difference between a zero-width space and a non-breaking space?
A zero-width space has no width at all and isn't a valid word-break point on its own. A non-breaking space has normal space width but prevents a line break at that point — both are invisible in most fonts, but they behave differently.
How does detection work?
The scanner checks pasted text for each of the listed invisible characters and reports how many of each are found — useful for spotting text that was tampered with or copied from a source known to insert hidden characters.
