What is an orphan page?
A page with no internal links pointing to it. Search engines can still find it via a sitemap, but with no links it receives no internal authority and signals that the site itself does not consider it important.
How many internal links should a page have?
There is no magic number, but a page you care about ranking should have inbound links from related pages, not just the sitemap. Relevance of the linking page matters more than raw count.
Does click depth matter?
Yes. Pages buried five clicks deep are crawled less frequently and treated as less important. Flattening the structure for key pages is one of the cheaper technical SEO wins.
