How it works
- Enter an hourly wage (or an annual salary — either works).
- Set your hours per week and paid weeks per year.
- See the full breakdown: daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly, and annual pay.
The formula
Annual pay is your hourly wage multiplied by hours worked per week and paid weeks per year; every other period is derived from that same annual figure:
Annual = Hourly wage × Hours per week × Paid weeks per year
Monthly = Annual ÷ 12 · Weekly = Hourly × Hours per week
Example: $25/hour at 40 hours/week for 52 paid weeks is 25 × 40 × 52 = $52,000/year.
FAQ
What does "paid weeks per year" mean?
It's the number of weeks you actually get paid for — 52 if you're paid straight through the year including vacation, or fewer if you want to exclude unpaid time off. Lowering it raises the annual-to-hourly ratio since fewer weeks are covering the same hourly rate.
Why is the daily figure based on a 5-day week specifically?
It divides your weekly pay by 5, the most common full-time schedule. If you work a different number of days, use the weekly figure and divide by your own day count instead.
Does this account for taxes?
No — every figure here is gross pay (before taxes, insurance, and other deductions), which is what job postings and offer letters typically quote. Your actual take-home pay will be lower.
Can I go the other direction — annual salary to hourly?
Yes — type into either the hourly or the annual field and the other one, plus the full breakdown table, updates automatically.
