The method
The newton (N) — the force needed to accelerate a 1 kg mass at 1 m/s² — is used as the common base unit. Your input is first converted to newtons, then from newtons into every other unit, using each unit's standard conversion factor.

What’s the difference between kilogram-force and kilogram?
A kilogram is a unit of mass; kilogram-force (kgf) is a unit of force — specifically, the force exerted by standard gravity on a 1 kg mass. They’re related but not the same kind of quantity, which is a common source of confusion in everyday and engineering contexts.
Where is the poundal used?
The poundal is a rarely-used force unit from the old “foot-pound-second” system, where mass is in pounds and force doesn’t rely on standard gravity the way pound-force does. It mostly shows up in older physics textbooks and historical engineering documents.
