How the dot-matrix generator works
- Type your message — a short line or two of letters, numbers, and spaces.
- Each character maps to a 5×7 grid of dots using a small built-in bitmap font — or switch to Draw mode and place the dots by hand on a grid.
- Restyle with a one-click preset or the Styles sliders, then download or copy the result as a PNG.
FAQ
Which characters are supported?
Uppercase letters A-Z, digits 0-9, spaces, and a few common punctuation marks. Lowercase input is automatically converted to uppercase before rendering.
Can I change the colors and dot size?
Yes — pick any dot and background color (or a transparent background), adjust the dot size slider, and use the Styles tab for zoom, spacing, rotation, curve, and glow. Four one-click presets (Classic LED, Neon Glow, Amber Scoreboard, Halftone Mono) restyle everything at once.
Can I copy the image instead of downloading it?
Yes — the Copy button on the Download tab puts the current image on your clipboard as a PNG, ready to paste into another app. If your browser doesn't support image copying, use Download PNG instead.
What is this useful for?
Retro LED-sign or scoreboard-style graphics for banners, thumbnails, social posts, or nostalgia-themed designs — typed from text or drawn dot by dot in Draw mode.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. The dot-matrix image is drawn on an in-browser canvas as you type — nothing is sent to a server.
