How it works

What is the Universal Numbering System used in dental charting?
The Universal Numbering System assigns numbers 1 through 32 to adult permanent teeth. Number 1 starts at the upper right third molar (wisdom tooth), progresses across to number 16 (upper left third molar), drops down to 17 (lower left third molar), and concludes at 32 (lower right third molar).
What do the different dental condition colors indicate?
Green represents healthy natural teeth, red highlights active decay/caries, blue marks existing fillings or restorations, yellow signifies crowns, grey indicates missing teeth, purple marks titanium dental implants, and dark rose represents completed root canal treatments (RCT).
Can I use this chart for patient education or student study?
