Density Converter
Convert density between kg/m³, g/cm³, lb/ft³, lb/in³, g/mL, and oz/in³ with all units updating live from a single input. Runs entirely in your browser.

How the density converter works
- Enter a density value and select which unit it's currently in.
- The tool converts that value to a common base unit, kg/m³.
- All six supported units are then shown at once, converted from that base value.
The method
Each unit has a fixed conversion factor to kg/m³ (e.g. 1 g/cm³ = 1000 kg/m³, 1 lb/ft³ ≈ 16.0185 kg/m³). Converting through this common base means every pair of units stays consistent no matter which one you start from.
FAQ
What units are supported?
kg/m³, g/cm³, lb/ft³, lb/in³, g/mL, and oz/in³ - covering the most common metric and imperial density units used in engineering, cooking, and material science.
Why is g/cm³ the same value as g/mL?
1 cubic centimeter is exactly 1 milliliter by definition, so a density expressed in g/cm³ and g/mL is numerically identical.
What is the density of water in these units?
Water is approximately 1 g/cm³, which equals 1000 kg/m³ or about 62.43 lb/ft³ - a useful reference point to sanity-check any conversion.
Does this run any calculation on a server?
No. All conversions happen locally in your browser using fixed conversion factors - nothing is uploaded.
