How the Deep Work Session Planner works
- Add one or more blocks, each with a specific goal and a length in minutes.
- Click "Start" on a block to begin its countdown timer, pausing or marking it complete as needed.
- Completed sessions land in the log below, giving you a running record of what deep work you actually did today.
FAQ
How is this different from a plain Pomodoro timer?
A Pomodoro timer just counts down a fixed interval. This planner asks you to name a concrete goal for each block before it starts, lets you queue several blocks with different lengths, and keeps a log of what you actually finished — closer to Cal Newport's "deep work" concept than a generic timer.
Does the session log persist after I close the page?
No — this is a lightweight in-page planner with no backend or local storage wired up, so the log resets on reload. Treat it as a same-session planning aid, and copy anything you want to keep before closing the tab.
Can I pause a running block?
Yes — the Pause button stops the countdown without losing your remaining time, and Resume picks up exactly where you left off, useful for a quick unavoidable interruption without abandoning the whole block.
