How the Cleaning Schedule Generator works
- Set your home — pick a size or enter the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, then tick the rooms and areas you actually use.
- Describe the household — just you, a couple, sharers or a family with children — and how many people split the work, with names if you want them on the rota.
- Choose your cleaning days and a distribution: little and often spreads the weekly tasks across several themed days, a weekly blitz stacks them onto one.

FAQ
How do I make a cleaning schedule that actually works?
Keep it realistic and split it by frequency. Daily maintenance (counters, dishes, a quick tidy) stays short; weekly resets are spread one theme per day so no single day is overloaded; monthly and seasonal deep tasks are rotated so only a few fall in any given week. This generator does that split for you from your rooms and household, and shows a weekly-hours total so you can tell before you start whether the plan is one you can keep.
What should you clean daily, weekly, and monthly?
Daily: wipe kitchen counters and the stovetop, deal with the dishes, make the beds, wipe the bathroom sink, and do a short clutter sweep. Weekly: bathrooms, floors (vacuum and mop), dusting and glass, the kitchen sink and appliance fronts, bed linen and laundry, and bins. Monthly: inside the fridge, the oven, skirting boards, ceiling fans, blinds, and a washing-machine cleaning cycle. The tool lists all of these grouped by frequency and adjusts the set to the rooms you selected.
How often should you clean everything in the house?
As a rough guide: high-touch surfaces and the kitchen daily; bathrooms, floors, dusting and sheets weekly; the oven, fridge and fans monthly; windows, mattresses, carpets and wardrobes each quarter. Homes vary enormously with size, occupants and standards, so treat the generated schedule as a starting point and drag tasks to a different day or add your own where your home needs it.
Should a shared household split chores by room or by task?
By task, usually. Splitting by room means one person always cleans the bathroom, which becomes a grievance. This tool assigns a themed day to each person and the Rotate button shifts who does what, so the unpleasant jobs move around instead of landing on the same person every week.
How is the weekly hour estimate calculated?
Each task carries a rough time estimate drawn from common cleaning guides. Per-bathroom and per-bedroom tasks are multiplied by your room counts, family households get slightly longer dishes and laundry, and the header figure combines daily tasks across seven days with the weekly total plus a prorated share of the monthly and seasonal work. It is an estimate to sanity-check the plan, not a stopwatch.
Can I print the cleaning schedule or export it?
Yes. Copy the whole schedule as formatted text, download it as a .txt checklist or a .csv you can open in Google Sheets or Excel, or use Print / PDF for a paper copy or a saved PDF. Your inputs, ticked tasks and custom tasks are stored in your browser on your device — nothing is uploaded.
