How it works

  1. Fill in identity, combat stats, and ability scores — modifiers are calculated for you automatically.
  2. Add weapons and general equipment, then round out the character with personality traits, ideals, bonds, flaws, and backstory.
  3. Everything saves automatically to your browser as you type, and you can keep multiple characters using the dropdown at the top.
  4. When you're ready, print the sheet, or download it as a JSON file to back it up or move it to another device.

FAQ

Is this tool tied to a specific game system like D&D?

No — the fields (ability scores, armor class, weapons, traits) are generic enough to work for D&D 5e, Pathfinder, OSR clones, or a homebrew system. There's no rules engine or SRD lookup, just a clean sheet you fill in.

Where is my character data stored?

In your browser's local storage, on your device only. It saves automatically as you type, and persists between visits on the same browser — but it's never uploaded, so clearing your browser's site data or switching devices loses it.

Can I keep more than one character?

Yes — use "New character" to start another sheet and switch between saved characters from the dropdown at the top.

How do I share or back up a character?

Use "Download JSON" to save a character file to your device, which you can re-upload later with "Import JSON" — on this browser, another browser, or another device. "Print sheet" gives you a clean printable or PDF-able page.

How is the ability modifier calculated?

Using the standard tabletop formula: floor((score − 10) / 2). A score of 18 gives +4, a score of 8 gives −1, and so on.
