FAQ
What is the objective of Backgammon?
The objective is to move all 15 of your checkers around the 24-point board in opposing directions into your home quadrant and then bear them off the board before your opponent does.
What happens when you roll doubles in Backgammon?
Rolling doubles (e.g. 4-4 or 6-6) doubles your moves, allowing the player to make four movements of that face value rather than two.
How does hitting a blot and re-entering from the bar work?
A lone checker on a point is called a "blot." If an opposing checker lands on that point, the blot is hit and placed on the center bar. The owner must re-enter that checker into the opponent's home board before moving any other checkers.
When can a player begin bearing off checkers?
A player may only begin bearing off checkers once all 15 checkers have successfully advanced into their own designated home board (points 1 to 6 for White, or points 19 to 24 for Black).
