Repair summary
318 transients detected and interpolated across a 4-minute vinyl transfer. The surface noise between clicks is untouched, because that needs noise reduction rather than declicking.
How the Audio Click and Pop Remover works
- Load the audio and choose the source, since vinyl crackle, digital dropouts and mouth clicks have different signatures.
- Start at medium sensitivity — too high and the detector treats sharp percussion as clicks.
- Listen to the repaired transients specifically, and check no drum hits or consonants were flattened.
FAQ
What is the difference between declicking and noise reduction?
Declicking repairs individual short transients by rebuilding a few samples. Noise reduction attacks continuous background hiss or hum across the whole file. Vinyl usually needs both, in that order.
Why did it damage my drums?
Because a sharp transient looks like a click to a detector set too sensitive. Lower the sensitivity, or process a selection that excludes the percussion.
Can every click be removed?
Short ones, usually invisibly, since the surrounding samples predict what was there. A long dropout has to be reconstructed from further away and the repair becomes audible.
