How the acronym is built
The generator takes the first letter of each included word. When filler-word filtering is enabled, common words such as the, and, or, and of are omitted except when they are the first word.

Punctuation is ignored when selecting initials, while letters and numbers from the original words are preserved. Review the result before using it as an official name.

What words are skipped?
With filler-word filtering enabled, the generator skips common short words such as a, an, and, as, at, by, for, from, in, of, on, or, the, to, and with. The first word is always included.
Can I choose uppercase or lowercase output?
Yes. Use Letter style to switch between uppercase and lowercase output, and use Separator to join initials with nothing, a hyphen, or a space.
Does the acronym generator upload my phrase?
No. The phrase is processed in your browser and is not uploaded to a server or sent to an external service.
Does the capitalization of my original phrase matter?
No. The first letter of each included word is used regardless of how the original phrase was capitalized; the output's case is controlled separately by the Letter style option.
